Philippe mobers

Born January 9, 1959 in Brussels. Studied music theory and guitar from the age of nine, and four years later enrolled in percussion lessons and began to play in groups. In 1982, after having followed courses with B. Castellucci, widens his musical horizon within various formations with P. Van Dormael (modern jazz) and also F. Wuyts (Flexible music).

 

In 83, joined the reggae group Seven Roots as well as the folk-rock formation of P. Kilbride. The following year, he went on a European tour with the “soul man” E.Floyd and R. Thomas, true legends of soul music. Then, he joined the group of Ph. Lafontaine with which he recorded and played live until 2006.

 

After a Latin-jazz experience with A. Massart (Three to get ready), meeting with Maurane and beginning of a long bond. At the end of the 1980s, “study” trip to the USA (teachers: D. Garibaldi, A. Acuna) and the following year, internship in Antibes with Joe Diorio and Joey Baron. Follows a tour with Marcia Maria.

 

At the beginning of 90, obtains a 1st price at the Conservatory of Brussels in Jazz and integrates the trio of Nono Garcia (flamenco-jazz). I followed a "Cuban master class" with Horacio Hernandez. From then on, many concerts and recordings with: Axelle Red, Laïs, Adamo,  Kadril, Sttellla, Khadja Nin, Gorki, Perry Rose, Marka and JP. Catoul & G. Micault for whom he produced the album “other words”.

 

At the beginning of 2002, joined F. Dragone and his team as "percussion trainer" for C. Dion's show and gave private lessons to the star. Join Rock's Cool as a drum teacher and ensemble. In 2004: tour with Maurane with whom he recorded the cd and the dvd "the happy tour". Since 2005, works in studio for different artists and invests in new projects as co-producer with M.Bioul as well as Melody Dalton (rock-pop) and Usher (Rock) and invests more in pedagogy.

 

Takes part in a big Grand-place concert of Bxl (2006) with Zap Mama, Sioul, J. Verminnen, as well as for the feast of the CF (2008) with Sttellla, W. Dunker, Jeronimo, Lafontaine, P. Rose. Unique concert for Kadril's 30th birthday during the Nekka Nacht at the Palais des Sport in Antwerp. Exceptional participation in the orchestra of the international film music festival in Ghent (25 musicians). Since 2010 joined Urban Trad and works in the production of Red Flowers. Is also a musical programmer at the Maison de la Culture in Namur.

 

Philippe Mobers also  accompanied during exceptional events: F. Cabrel, V. Sanson, M. Fugain, M. Jonaz, J. Birkin, D. Lavoie, Noà, Gad Elmaleh, R. Bona, T. Thielemans, Benabar, Renan Luce, La Grande Sophie ...
