Ariane De Bièvre

Ariane De Bièvre leads a double career as a percussionist and a flautist.

​

After a prize for excellence in percussion at the Académie d'Ixelles in the class of Luc D'hondt and training in Afro-Cuban percussion with Didier Labarre, she left to study Latin music at the Rotterdam conservatory with L. van Merwijk and M. Verdonk then devoted himself to Hindustani music (tablas with T. de Jong, bansuri flute with H. Chaurasia).

Percussionist of the Badiane, Klezz Combo, Ten Strings, Camaxe groups; accompanying James Kline and Julos Beaucarne, she also participates in the creation of contemporary works with Ensemble 21.


Eclectic poly-instrumentalist, she has recorded with many artists: Abdelli, M.Massot, Samboa, Julos Beaucarne, Pierre Rapsat, Univers Zéro… and has participated in 2 tours of William Sheller.

​

She has given concerts in France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Lebanon, Canada, USA.


Ariane De Bièvre has a first prize in flute and chamber music from the Conservatory of Music in Brussels and a Bachelor in Indian music from the Conservatory in Rotterdam; she also has a degree in musicology from the ULB.
